MEET THE VET
Doctor Gary A. Cotton

Dr. Gary Cotton graduated from Colorado State University in 1983 as a Veterinarian. His undergraduate work included the animal sciences with plenty of emphasis on nutrition. He practiced large and small animal medicine in Southwest Oregon and was a part time faculty member of Southwest Oregon Community College. In 1987 he moved to Findlay, OH and started the Animal Medical Center of Findlay. Total Pet Care located in Maumee, OH was opened in the spring of 1998.

While practicing veterinary medicine Dr. Gary observed many medical conditions that he felt were nutrition related. He knew that nutrition knowledge was lacking, in general, in veterinary medicine so he set out to do something about it. He recognized the Cocker Spaniel as a classic medical problem: bad skin, bad ears, bad colon, and often a bad temperament. In 1993 Dr. Gary developed a diet called Best Breed Cocker Spaniel Diet. He started using it on many problem animals in his practice. He developed the food without regard to the usual marketing and cost control techniques of other pet food companies. Amazingly, every dog put on the food made improvement within a month. Encouraged, Dr. Gary went on to formulate more foods for other breeds and conditions. Best Breed Pet Foods has ten canine diets to meet almost every situation.

Dr. Gary practices veterinary medicine full time along with his wife, Dr. Toni Cotton who is a nationally known veterinarian and lecturer in the camelid industry. Together they breed and raise pacunas. Dr. Gary also writes health articles for working dog publications and gives nutrition seminars.

Best Breed Pet Foods ships pet food all across the country and has fed national champions as well as national best friends and pets. Dr. Gary and Best Breed have emphasized the nutritional demands with working dogs. The company is committed to the single most important thing you can provide for your dog...nutrition.
